The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWS), March 8, universally encourages everyone to help call out gender bias, discrimination and harmful stereotyping in the ongoing mission and battle for women’s equality.

Shattering Gender Stereotypes
The Fawcett Society aims to tackle damaging gender stereotypes and is raising money for their Equal Pay project, a campaign focused on starting the conversation and taking action to challenge gender stereotypes within families.
According to the charity, gender stereotypes make women of all ages feel vulnerable, especially those from underrepresented groups. These stereotypes that generally start early in life create barriers to gender equality, leading to negative consequences in the long run. The goal of this campaign is to reach a million people to support 5,000 parents in tackling gender stereotypes in their own families.
Building up our Sisterhood
The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), an international, nonprofit organization focused on empowering young women, is running the message of sisters raising up sisters and future leaders in celebration of International Women’s Day 2022.
Asking people worldwide to sign its Global Sisterhood Pledge, the charity will be providing a series of insights, tips, and truths from leading women across the globe.
CAMFED is led by women from disadvantaged backgrounds aiming to prove that girls’ education leads to women’s inclusion in decision and policy making. Since COVID-19 and economic uncertainty pushed an additional millions of girls out of school, the charity is pledging to support 5 million more girls to go to school within five years.
Helping women be more Career Confident
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the owner of vintage fashion company, Clara’s Box, is volunteering with Smart Work to become a mentor and coach other women for job interviews.
The charity – based in the UK – is supported by the Duchess of Sussex and aims to empower women with the confidence they need to reach their full potential pertaining to their careers.
In a similar movement, a fashion accessory company, Custard Cloth plans to donate 15% of their sales on International Women’s Day. This charity aims to give women the confidence to achieve their economic independence by providing them a network of support, professional clothing and career development resources.
Take Time for Yourself
KidCoach, a tech startup aiming to bridge the gap between busy parents and quality time with their children through communication, is giving its employees some creative me time this International Women’s Day.
KidCoach founder understands the ongoing pressure felt by his female workers and sees their natural tendency to put others before themselves. To help combat the stress, the company is providing its staff with the chance to take some time out as part of their day to leave and relax in return that they bring back an idea to the table the next day.
This company act intends to help employees clear their head, reduce their stress, improve their efficiency while cultivating new ideas.
